After settling back into the new normal of home, I finally have some time to catch up on updates. Sorry I’ve been so bad at posting and for not sending out an update sooner. It’s been so long that I’m not sure where to start. Here are some of the things that happened since my last post.
It starting raining a lot more and a lot harder — wet season. I wish I captured the thunderstorms! They were beautiful!
There were still many of these stunning sunsets to enjoy. I’ll definitely miss the view.
This little girl with congenital dislocation of the knee came back. Her mum reported that she was doing much better.
This little guy came in with an “arm injury”. With the help of the ultrasound machine, we found that he had a fractured arm. We monitored him and he did very well.
My partner joined me for the last couple months. She helped some of our partners with several nutrition projects, and we visited Zanzibar! We had an unfortunate scooter accident while on the island and now have matching scars, but we still had an amazing time.
We were invited to a local wedding for these two. We had too much fun at the wedding to take photos, although I wish I had some of those memories now… especially the dancing, the dancing was incredible.
I am forever grateful for the people I connected with during my time in Tanzania. Below are just a few. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to take photos with everyone, but they all made a huge impact on my experience.
Given all the new relationships and connections, it was hard for me to leave, and with all the current uncertainty in the world, I’m not sure when I’ll be back. But, I’ll definitely be back.
